Science Fair judges sought
Judges are being sought for the Illinois Junior Academy of Science Region 8 Science Fair on March 23 at the Student Center.
Judging teams consist of two people – one faculty member and one graduate or undergraduate student. Typically, each judging team will judge a maximum of five projects. A list of categories is here.
Officials expect about 400 junior high and high school students to participate in the event. Approximately 60 projects will go on to compete in the state competition at Northern Illinois University May 5-6.
Teams in first judging session will meet at 8:45 a.m. in the Student Center Auditorium for a brief orientation to describe judging criteria and distribute assignments. Teams in the second judging session will meet at 10:45 a.m. also in the Student Center Auditorium.
Teams may sign up for both sessions. The online registration form is here. For more information, contact Kathy Pericak-Spector at kpericak@math.siu.edu or 453-6569.
