‘Sibs and Kids Day’ set for Feb. 25
Faculty, staff and students may invite any child, sibling, niece, cousin and friends to campus later this month to experience the excitement of life as a Saluki.
Sibs and Kids Day is Feb. 25, with check-in from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Student Recreation Center. Events include craft shop activities and bowling at the Student Center, celebrating Dr. Seuss’s birthday during story time at University Bookstore, numerous activities at the Student Recreation Center, and a pizza party featuring the movie “Moana” in the center’s Alumni Lounge.
There is also a Saluki men’s basketball game now set for 7 p.m. at the SIU Arena against Loyola. Each game ticket is $10, and current SIU students do not have to buy a game ticket. Souvenir “Sibs and Kids Day” T-shirts are available for $10 each. Tickets and T-shirts must be purchased in advance by the registration deadline, 4:30 p.m., Feb. 17. The men’s basketball game time is subject to change.
All activities, the schedule and registration forms and information can be found here. Medical releases are required, and a housing form must be filled out if the child is staying overnight.
Children at least eight years old and older may stay with their sibling if they live in an on-campus resident hall or apartment, with prior approval. Details are available online.
