‘HireTouch’ will assist in hiring efforts
Late last year, the university started implementation of HireTouch™, a new software system that will streamline and simplify recruiting and hiring processes. During the kick-off meetings, a number of campus stakeholders worked with HireTouch consultants to delineate how various parts of the employment process mesh together -- from inception of a job through to the hiring and onboarding of a candidate.
According to Kevin Bame, vice chancellor for administration and finance, “This new system will allow us to streamline a very complex process and keep everyone who needs to be involved informed through the entire hiring cycle.”
Once operational (anticipated late spring), HireTouch will allow departments to streamline current employment processes -- reducing the time needed to develop job postings and hire employees. Human Resources, the hiring department, and the offices of the Provost and Affirmative Action will all have the real-time information needed to move potential employees through the vetting and hiring process.
People seeking employment with SIU Carbondale will be able to complete the entire application process online. If selected for an interview or offered a position, potential candidates can enter additional information directly in their online employment file.
As the go-live date approaches, training sessions will be offered to faculty and staff.
