SPC looking for speakers for ‘PechaKucha’ night

The Student Programming Council is looking for speakers for a “PechaKucha” Night, set for Oct. 5 in Morris Library’s John C. Guyon Auditorium.

SPC is hosting the event, which will focus on the 2016 presidential election. PechaKucha is a fast-paced presentation style that forces speakers to get to the point in 6 minutes and 40 seconds. Speakers create visual aids consisting of 20 slides that advance automatically every 20 seconds. The event will begin at 7 p.m.

East presentation should relate to the election in some way; what the election will mean for your field of study, for Southern Illinois, or another unique perspective. The goal is to have a diverse group of speakers with a variety of ideas and opinions. Faculty are asked to tell their students of the event.

For more information or the registration form, email spclectures@siu.edu, preferably by Friday, Sept. 16.
