Business start-up, expansion workshop planned

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- People who are considering starting or expanding their own businesses will find helpful information at an Aug. 18 workshop provided by Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Illinois Small Business Development Center/International Trade Center. 

The presentation takes place from 1 to 3 p.m. in Room 150 at the Dunn-Richmond Economic Development Center, 1740 Innovation Drive, Carbondale. 

The seminar delivers all of the relevant information about beginning a business, including legal structure, start-up requirements, finding financing and business planning basics. Participants will also receive a business start-up kit that includes copies of the presentation slides, a business plan workbook, federal and state tax identification number applications, a business start-up checklist and a packet with financing questions and answers. A flash drive pre-loaded with government applications and other electronic forms and materials is within the kit as well.
