Wireless access service conversion continues
The conversion from “SIU Indoor” to “eduroam” (education roaming) secure wireless access service continues with another change beginning next week.
SIU Indoor will be “hidden” as of Tuesday, July 5, with eduroam becoming the preferred Wi-Fi access option on campus. Faculty, staff and students who have previously signed in may still be able to access SIU Indoor until it is phased out this fall. Nonetheless, the Office of Information Technology recommends campus users make the change to eduroam now.
New students and visitors will never see SIU Indoor as an option on their devices; they will see eduroam and be able to access it using their Dawg Tag ID number and password.
Accessing eduroam is easy and with minimal setup. SIU Carbondale users can connect to eduroam wireless networks on member campuses around the United States and throughout the world. Active eduroam locations are available here.
Complete setup instructions are available here, through SalukiTech at 453-5155, or salukitech@siu.edu.
