DiversityWise Spotlight Series event is Wednesday

The Office of Diversity and Equity and the Associate Chancellor for Institutional Diversity are hosting “The ‘N-Word’ History and a 2016 perspective,” from 2 to 4 p.m., Wednesday, April 20, in Morris Library’s John C. Guyon Auditorium.

The event is part of the DiversityWise Spotlight Series. Pamela A. Smoot, clinical assistant professor in the Department of Africana Studies and coordinator of recruitment, retention and outreach in the College of Liberal Arts, will give a presentation followed by a panel discussion, providing the opportunity for questions and conversations in a safe environment. Panelists will include Smoot, Novotny Lawrence, associate professor and chair, Department of Radio, Television, and Digital Media, and Doug Sanders, senior lecturer, Department of Kinesiology.
