Award-winning animator to screen films
CARBONDALE, Ill. – Award-winning animator Stacey Steers will be at Southern Illinois University Carbondale next week to screen several of her films.
Steers will also participate in a Q-and-A after the screening. The event begins at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, in Morris Library’s John C. Guyon Auditorium. The screening is part of the Department of Cinema and Photography’s visiting artist program and is free and open to the public.
Her animated short films have screened throughout the United States and abroad, receiving numerous awards. The films have been included in the Sundance Film Festival, Telluride Film Festival, New Directors New Films in New York, and the Rotterdam International Film Festival. The films also screened at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., and the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, among several other venues.
