Media Advisory – Art Awards
Reporters, camera crews and photographers are invited to be on hand for one of the most exciting moments of the year for Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s School of Art and Design -- the announcement of the Rickert-Ziebold Trust Award winner or winners. The competitive exhibit is open only to graduating seniors. Approximately a dozen finalists set up exhibits in the Surplus Gallery (Glove Factory, 432 S. Washington Ave.) and on Monday, April 4, School of Art and Design faculty members judge the exhibits on artistic merit, use of exhibit space and other criteria. Faculty judges will announce the winner(s) at 3:30 p.m., April 4, in the Surplus Gallery. Winners are almost always on hand for interviews and photographs after the announcement. The exhibit will remain open for the week.
