Writing Center hosts open houses
The Writing Center at Morris Library hosts a pair of open houses in March to remind the campus community that Writing Center staff are available to help with every stage of the writing process.
The reception for faculty, staff and graduate instructors is March 9. The reception for students is March 30. Both events are 5-7 p.m. in Morris Library, room 236. The event includes light refreshments.
For faculty and instructors, the lab offers materials promoting good writing and offers strategies for teaching and encouraging writing skills. In addition, faculty and graduate students may use the Writing Center services for their own writing and writing process.
The Writing Center regularly offers workshops on topics such as MLA or AP style and citations, resume or job letter writing, and specific grammatical challenges. Find out about available workshops, and learn how a “write-in” can help you with the writing process.
The Writing Center includes the Online Writing Lab (OWL). Use of the OWL is by appointment. Staff will talk about the OWL and how to use it during the open house.
