Black History Month schedule changes announced
CARBONDALE, Ill. – Several changes to Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Black History Month schedule have been announced.
The presentation “I Am…” set for Friday, Feb. 12, at 7 p.m., has been moved and will now take place in the Roman Room on the first floor of the Student Center. Jeff McCoy, assistant dean of students, and OOOPS! Entertainment Inc. are leading the event.
The film screening of “The Black Panthers: Vanguard of the Revolution,” directed by Stanley Nelson, will still be at 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 13 in the Carbondale Public Library but, the time and date the movie will air on WSIU-TV have changed. The movie will now run on television at 8 p.m. on Feb. 16.
“A Nightingale for Du Bois,” an original play from the Africana Theatre Laboratory, will still be performed the weekend of Feb. 13-14 at the Moe Lab Theater in the Communications Building, but the times have changed. The free play is now scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 13 and 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 14.
