Office 365 users need Internet Explorer upgrade

Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 12, Office 365 users who use Internet Explorer (IE) 8 or 9 will be limited to the light version for the O365 interface at office.siu.edu. Users may experience slow or otherwise unsatisfactory performance. It is highly recommended that staff or students running Windows 7 verify they are running Internet Explorer 10 or later. Alternatively, users can continue to access their mail through other browsers, such as the most current versions of Chrome or Firefox.

To check your version of Internet Explorer:

• Click the Gear icon: The Gear icon is in the upper-right corner of the Internet Explorer window.
• Click “About Internet Explorer”: This is located at the bottom of the menu. A new window will appear.
• Check the version number:  If it says Internet Explorer 10 or higher, no changes are necessary. If it says Internet Explorer 8 or 9, install the newest version, contact your local support staff or SalukiTech for further assistance.
