Registration is open for research symposium, workshop
Registration is open for the second ASA Multidisciplinary Research Symposium, hosted by the College of Applied Sciences and Arts.
The symposium is all day, Saturday, Nov. 21, in the Student Center, and open to all faculty, professionals and students. The event will feature sessions focused on the following disciplines: Allied Health, Architecture, Automotive Technology, Aviation, and Information Systems and Applied Technologies.
The symposium will also feature a panel discussion on Big Data and a hands-on workshop hosted by IBM to introduce participants to their Watson Analytics software.

A part of the symposium, the IBM Watson Analytics Workshop, is at 9:30 a.m. in Morris Library’s John C. Guyon Auditorium. The hands-on workshop is open to faculty and students and is an introduction to smart data discovery using IBM Watson software.
Participants need to bring their own laptop. Those attending will receive complimentary licenses of IBM Watson Analytics Professional Edition, and there will be time to speak to experts and learn more about the software after the workshop.
