Identity Management System updates are this weekend
Faculty and staff are reminded that Information Technology staff will roll out an updated version of the Identity Management System (netid.siu.edu) after the close of business on Friday, Sept. 18, through Sunday, Sept. 20.
The new version will introduce a few changes, with the most notable being related to creating ‘@siu.edu’ email addresses. Newly created university email addresses (@siu.edu) will no longer be “vanity” or “self-created.” Rather, the IDM system will generate email addresses automatically based upon an individual’s name. This will only apply to newly created accounts, all existing ‘@siu.edu’ email addresses will be grandfathered to the new system.
