Women’s Leadership proposal deadline is next week
The deadline for faculty, staff and graduate students to submit conference proposals for next month’s Women’s Leadership Conference is Friday, Sept. 4.
The second annual conference, “Stronger Together,” is Sept. 18, in the Student Center. Laurie K. Landgraf, senior counsel with The Boeing Company, and a two-degree SIU Carbondale graduate, is the keynote speaker.

The second annual conference is open to undergraduate students and high school seniors with a focus on developing future women leaders. The conference is an opportunity for students to visit the university and gain insight into programming. The focus includes students who are in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields, and those in business and agriculture. All students are welcome to attend.
There will be a select number of sessions dedicated to high school students only. Proposals should be typed and submitted to Tarnisha Green, director of Success in Engineering through Excellence and Diversity. Presenters will be notified of their selection by Sept. 11.
