CARBONDALE, Ill. – Openings remain for the fifth annual “Give Adults a Smile Day” at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. The event, which offers access to free dental services for community members, is Friday, July 10, at the SIU Dental Hygiene Clinic, 1365 Douglas Drive, located west of the SIU Arena.

The session will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Appointments can be made calling 618/453-8826.

Interested participants are encouraged to call as soon as possible because a limited number of openings are available. The event is for adults ages 20 and older who are uninsured, on a fixed income, or covered by Medicaid.

Registered dental hygienists and area dentists, along with dental hygiene students from SIU Carbondale and John A. Logan College, will provide free dental care including examinations, x-rays, cleanings, limited restorative care and fluoride treatments.
