'Carbondale Community Day' tickets available
Tickets for “Carbondale Community Day” at Rent One Park in Marion for the Aug. 8 baseball game featuring the Southern Illinois Miners are available at the SIU Arena ticket office.
Acting Chancellor Paul D. Sarvela, Carbondale Mayor Don Monty and Melissa Lewis, the chamber’s president-elect, will throw out ceremonial pitches prior to the Miners’ game against the Windy City Thunderbolts.
Carbondale City Manager Kevin Baity will sing during the seventh-inning stretch.
Gates open at 6 p.m. and the first pitch is at 7:05 p.m. Stick around after the game for the team’s “FANtastic Friday Fireworks Show.”
The price for each box seat is $8. The Carbondale Chamber of Commerce will receive half of the proceeds from each ticket sold.
