Law school to host upcoming regional receptions
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Southern Illinois University School of Law will host a series of receptions next month for alumni, attorneys, judges and prospective students interested in law.
The receptions will be in Chicago, Springfield, and St. Louis.
The law school has been hosting regional receptions for more than 15 years, and alumni, along with several judges from throughout the state will be able to visit with Dean Cynthia L. Fountaine, faculty and colleagues, said Elizabeth O’Neil, the law school's director of alumni affairs and annual giving.
The law school has more than 3,700 graduates since its first graduating class in 1976. There are 254 alumni in Chicago, 277 in the St. Louis/Metro East area, and 299 in Springfield on file with the law school.
The Chicago reception will be in conjunction with the mid-year Illinois State Bar Association meeting. Law school alumni from the Chicago area and throughout the state who will attend the bar association meeting will have an opportunity to attend the reception, O’Neil said.
The receptions and locations are:
- Dec. 4 -- Springfield. 5:30-7:30 p.m., Maldaner’s, 222 South 6th St.
- Dec. 5 -- St. Louis, Mo. 5:30-7:30 p.m. ---- SqWires, 1415 South 18th St.
- Dec. 14 – Chicago. 4-6 p.m., Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers, 301 E. North Water St.
