Evening of readings to benefit hurricane victims

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Creative writing students in the master of fine arts program at Southern Illinois University Carbondale and creative writing faculty will present an evening of readings and door prizes to benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy.

The event is set for 7:30-9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16, in the Harry T. Moore Auditorium in Faner Hall (Room 1326). 

Readers will present their own works, and also works from poets and writers from the Northeast United States.  Organizers plan to present door prizes at several times during the evening. 

There is no admission fee for this event.  However, donations for the American Red Cross are encouraged.
