‘Working with Kindness’ is workshop topic
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- A little kindness can go a long way.
That’s the message of a Dec. 15 workshop at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. “It’s a Team Effort: Working with Kindness” is the presentation from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Student Health Center Auditorium. All campus faculty and staff are welcome to attend the Labor and Employee Relations event.
According to Carol Fisher, workforce learning and development officer, each of us has many one-second opportunities during the day to exhibit a bit more patience, pay a little extra attention, or show a little more kindness and doing so can make a huge difference in our interactions with people. The session will offer ideas for handling our frustrations so as to not let our emotions interfere with our ability to listen and for responding with patience and kindness even when treated rudely.
