CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The 10th Annual Health and Nutrition Fair from Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s University Housing is a celebration of March as National Nutrition Month.

The March 23 event, in honor of the month’s designation from the American Dietetic Association, is free and open to the public. The fair offers health and nutrition information in a fun format, complete with prizes and giveaways. The fair is 4-6 p.m. in the lower level of Grinnell Hall and the theme is “Paint Your Plate: Incorporate the Colors of Good Nutrition!”

The first 300 active participants will get a free “Paint Your Plate” T-shirt. Exhibitors from the University and the community will provide information about various health topics, including the importance of incorporating a variety of colorful foods into your meals to have a healthy, nutritious diet. In addition, participants will enjoy fun activities and competitions complete with prizes and giveaways.

“Don’t miss your chance to be a part of this University and community-wide effort to be healthy and ‘Paint Your Plate!” said Carrie Huntley, nutrition counselor/graduate assistant for University Housing.
