Memorial service for Keith Sanders is Feb. 11
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- A celebration and remembrance of the life of former Southern Illinois University Trustee Keith R. Sanders, Ph.D. will be held on Friday, Feb. 11, at 2 p.m. in Shyrock Auditorium on the campus of Southern Illinois University Carbondale. A reception will follow. Sanders, 71, passed away at his home on Jan. 12 after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
Sanders served as an SIU trustee from 2004 until his death. He earned two degrees from his alma mater and was a member of the SIUC academy for more than 20 years, including serving as dean of the College of Communication and Fine Arts from 1983-1989.
Sanders and his wife Carol endowed a scholarship for high-achieving, low-income Franklin County students to achieve their dreams at SIUC.
