Admissions, financial aid sessions planned

by Andrea Hahn

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The offices of Financial Aid and Undergraduate Admissions at Southern Illinois University Carbondale will present information sessions for University employees who have friends or family interested in attending SIUC.

These information sessions are set for Jan. 24. One session begins at noon in Lawson Hall, Room 121. Another session begins at 5 p.m. in the Wham Education Building, Room 105. Sessions will cover topics such as admissions, financial aid, housing, and new student orientation.

These information sessions are part of SIUC's ongoing commitment to recruit students from Southern Illinois to attend their local University. Other initiatives include the Southern Stars program, which offers a tuition rate 20 percent below the standard, in-state tuition rate for qualifying students from 34 Southern Illinois counties. Just introduced is the SIUC Legacy Tuition Rate for newly entering freshmen or transfer undergraduate students. These students can save 20 percent on in-state or out-of-state tuition, guaranteed for four years, if they have a parent or guardian who graduated from SIUC.
