Student computer animation festival planned

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- University Museum at Southern Illinois University Carbondale will host I-SCAPE, the Second Student Computer Animation Festival on May 1.

The festival is 5-8 p.m. and features screening of selected pieces from student animators from all around Illinois. Award categories in the juried competition include Best Narrative, Best Experimental, Viewers’ Choice and Best SIUC Animated Short. Winners receive a cash award and a trophy.

The event is free. Anyone interested in computer animation or video gaming is welcome to attend. Light refreshments are provided.

Computer Arts and Technology Society (CATS) founded and organized this event. CATS is an SIUC student group promoting exploration of computer arts and technology.
