Meetings focus on SIUC’s non-traditional students

by Christi Mathis

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- How can life at Southern Illinois University Carbondale be even better for non-traditional students? That’s what Student Development’s Non-Traditional Student Services (NTSS) hopes to find out through a series of focus group meetings this spring.

NTSS wants to hear about the experiences non-traditional students are having on campus. What services are they aware of? Which services have they used? What challenges do they face and how can NTSS better serve them? During the meetings, each about two hours long, non-traditional students get the opportunity to have their voices and opinions heard.

All focus group meetings will meet in Activity Room C on the third floor of the Student Center. Seating is limited, so contact Kristian Alton at 618/453-6714 or by e-mail at NTSS.sdev@siu.edu to reserve a spot. Participants are welcome to bring food and drinks.
