Goldman to deliver State of the University address

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois University Carbondale Chancellor Samuel Goldman will deliver his second State of the University address on Monday, Sept. 14.

A 1:30 p.m. reception in the Student Center’s Corker Lounge precedes the address, which will begin at 2 p.m. in the Student Center Ballrooms.

Admission is free and the public is welcome to attend the address.


Media Advisory

A platform will be available in the Student Center Ballrooms for camera crews and photographers. Members of the media are welcome to attend a news conference Chancellor Goldman will hold immediately following his address, at approximately 3 p.m. The news conference will take place in the Student Center’s Mississippi Room.


During the address, Goldman will discuss budget and enrollment issues, new initiatives and highlights from the previous year, among other topics.

WSIU radio and WSIU TV will record the address. It will air on WSIU radio (91.9, 91.9 HD, 90.3, 88.9 FM) at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 14. WSIU TV 8/WUSI TV 16 will broadcast the address on Sunday, Sept. 20, at 1 p.m.
