How long at SIUC: Four years

Hometown: Altamont, Ill.

When you were a youngster, what did you want to be when you grew up? Dairy farmer

People don’t know that you…worked at the St. Louis Zoo for four years with more than 250 species of animals, spending most that time with the elephants

What is something you still want to accomplish in life? Be a good father to my kids (first due in December ) and be a good husband.

What was the first “album” you ever bought, and was it an LP, 8-track or CD? Tape, Weird Al Yankovic

What is one random fact about you? I talk to cows early in the morning

What is your favorite food and why? Pizza, just because.

Who has inspired you, and how? My parents, mostly, and my grandfather. They taught me to not give up or compromise my integrity.

What is your pet peeve? People not taking the blame for something and trying to pass the buck.

What would you like your gravestone to say about you? No one ever knew when to take him seriously.

Favorite cartoon character? Why? Wylie Coyote -- he never gave up.
