CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Division of Continuing Education, in cooperation with the Saluki softball program, is offering two camps this summer for girls in grades two-12 who want to improve their skills on the field.

Hitting and Defense Camp is from 9 a.m. until noon each day, June 8-11, at Sports Blast in Carbondale. It will provide players in grades three-12 with personalized hitting and bunting instruction as well as training for their defensive positions through station work and drills. Registrations for Hitting and Defense Camp are due no later than June 5.

Pitching Camp is from 1 to 3:30 p.m. each day, July 14-15, at the Student Recreation Center. Campers in grades two-12 will participate in drill work and get instruction in specialized pitches. There will be a coach-to-camper ratio of one to five. The deadline for Pitching Camp is July 10.

Registration is $80 per camp or $150 for both camps. Enrollment is limited. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
