Alumni Association plans pre-game events
CARBONDALE, Ill. — The Southern Illinois University Alumni Association invites current and new members to attend member appreciation events at upcoming Southern Illinois University Carbondale basketball games.
The first event is Jan. 8 before the Saluki men take on the Bradley Braves. Members can purchase upper-bowl tickets for $5 each, with a limit of two tickets at that price. Prior to the game, the SIU Alumni Association hosts members at a reception. Refreshments include mini sandwiches, meatballs, teriyaki chicken skewers, fruit and cheese, vegetable tray and soft drinks. The reception is in Lingle Hall, rooms 124 and 125. The reception begins at 4 p.m. and costs $5 per person. Reserve your reception seating early – seating is limited. Reservation deadline is Jan. 6. The SIU-Bradley game tips off at 6 p.m.
The second event is Jan. 20, when the Saluki women take on Creighton University at 2:05 p.m. Members who present their cards at the SIU Arena entrance get coupons for a free hot dog and soda at the concession stand.
Members can purchase game tickets online at www.siualumni.com, or by calling the SIU Alumni Association at 618/453-2408. Tickets purchased by phone or online will be available at the SIU Alumni Association ticket window on the south end of the SIU Arena two hours before the game.
Tickets are also available immediately at the SIU Alumni Association offices on the second floor of Colyer Hall and at the Student Center. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The offices will be closed from Dec. 24 through Jan. 1.
