'Introduction to Voiceovers' workshop is Sept. 13

CARBONDALE, Ill. — You hear them every day — those voices on radio and television commercials or reading documentaries or audio books. Could you become a professional voiceover artist? The Division of Continuing Education at Southern Illinois University Carbondale is giving you the chance to find out.

A two-hour workshop, "Introduction to Voiceovers," is set for 6-8 p.m., Sept. 13, in Room 1022 of the Communications Building at SIUC.

The class teaches the basics of beginning a successful voiceover artist career, including industry details, marketing philosophy, the importance of voiceover demos and much more. It's a comprehensive introductory workshop where participants learn the ins and outs of the burgeoning lucrative industry. The instructor will coach and record each student and give each a personal evaluation. Previous class participants have gone on to become professional voiceover actors.
