SIUC offering ballroom dance lessons

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois University Carbondale will offer ballroom dance lessons for beginners during the spring semester.

The class provides a quick introduction to a variety of basic steps in the six most common ballroom dances, with instruction in lead-follow and good dance technique.

Session I includes the Rumba, Cha Cha and Swing; session II includes the Foxtrot, Waltz and Tango.

Session I is set for 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, Feb. 1-March 8. Session II will be held 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays, March 22-May 3. All classes will be held on the second floor of Davies Gymnasium on the SIUC campus. The fee is $30.
