The announcement of the winners of the $20,000 Rickert-Ziebold Trust Award competition -- open to select seniors majoring in art and design at Southern Illinois University Carbondale -- is set for 3:30 p.m. Monday, March 29, in the Surplus Gallery of the Glove Factory.

The Glove Factory (408 S. Washington St.) is a collection of studios and galleries kept by the University at the corner of Washington and College streets.

Finalists include up-and-coming designers, glass blowers, sculptors and studio artists.

The prize money can go to a single winner or be split among several winning artists. Art school faculty will judge the contest.

All entries will be on public view at a free open house from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, March 28, and reporters and photographers may also see them from 11 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Monday, March 29.
