Nominations open for outstanding service award
The SIUC Civil Service Council is accepting nominations for the 22nd annual Outstanding Service Award. The award recognizes a civil service employee who has provided outstanding service to the University and the community. The staff member selected receives $2,000, a designated parking space on campus for one year, and their name added to the permanent plaque displayed in the Student Center. The Office of the Chancellor and SIU Foundation provide funding for the award. The nomination deadline is 4 p.m. Dec. 19. The nominee may be any SIUC civil service employee with a minimum of five consecutive years of service in a status civil service position. Past recipients, along with the President's Office and University-wide services staff, are not eligible. Any member of the University community may nominate a candidate. Nominations must be typed and include three to five reference letters dated within six months of the application deadline, and a job description within one year of the application deadline. A curriculum vitae and/or resume may be submitted. The completed packet of the nomination and letters of reference must be received in the Professional Constituencies Office, Woody Hall, C114, mail code 4712, by the deadline.
