Fall enrollment goes up

275 more students attend in spite of tuition hike

Chancellor Walter V. Wendler announced Sept. 4 that total enrollment is up 275 students, standing at 21,873 this fall.

"This is very good news," Wendler said. "Our students and parents realize that we offer a high-quality education at an affordable price. To ensure quality and access, we had to raise tuition and fees this year, but it didn't keep students away. That shows that our costs remain reasonable."

Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management Larry H. Dietz said many on and off campus deserve credit for the increase. "Overall these things don't happen without a team effort," he said.
