SIU Day at Du Quoin State Fair set for Aug. 28

SIU Day, a celebration of the university’s connection to the region, is coming to the Du Quoin State Fair on Sunday, Aug. 28. More


Confidential advisor to support victims of gender-based violence

SIU has a new confidential advisor who is trained to support victims of gender- based violence, including sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, and stalking.  Any student who has experienced gender-based violence may contact the advisor for confidential support as well as access to resources and information they need to safely continue their studies. More


Proposals are being accepted for ‘LEAD 2016’

Proposals are being accepted for those interested in speaking at the “LEAD 2016” leadership conference, Sept. 30, at the Student Center. The event is a joint venture between the Women’s Leadership Conference and the SI Leadership Conference. More


Volunteers sought for the ‘Big Event’ 

Faculty and staff are encouraged to help identify students to participate in a student-run, community service project next April. More


WSIU Vintage Record Sale Sept. 17 

The ninth annual WSIU Classic Vinyl Sale will be in WSIU-TV Studio A next month. More


‘Graduate Saluki Stories’ fall edition is here

The fall 2016 edition of “Graduate Saluki Stories,” a mixture of stories from current students and alumni from the Graduate School, is available.


Saluki Kickoff 5K is Sept. 10 

Saluki Athletics, in association with The Southern Illinoisan and Run to Remember, will host the sixth annual Saluki Kickoff 5K on Sept. 10. Check-in starts at 7:30 a.m. and the race begins at 8:30 a.m. In the evening, Saluki football will host Southeast Missouri State University in Coach Nick Hill’s home debut at 6 p.m. in Saluki Stadium.
