Life of Chancellor Sarvela honored

The university community is invited to a public visitation and celebration of life honoring Interim Chancellor Paul Sarvela today (Thursday, Nov. 13), from 4 to 8 p.m. in the SIU Student Center Ballrooms. Father Joseph Brown will offer a word of reflection at 7:30 p.m.

New sensitive information standards in effect

A new standard for the safe handling of sensitive information is in effect for all faculty and staff and will be implemented over time with the assistance of departmental Local Area Network (LAN) Administrators. More


‘Wellness Wednesday’ focuses on yoga

The 'WellSIU' ‘Wellness Wednesday’ lunch seminar from 12:15 to 1 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 19, will focus on yoga. Yoga is a mind-body practice that combines stretching exercises, controlled breathing and relaxation. Yoga’s benefits include helping reduce stress, lower blood pressure and improved heart function. Yoga mats will be provided but participants may bring their own. The exercise is in the Student Center’s Kaskaskia Room, and restrooms are nearby for those who need to change.
