SIU will host SIU Day at the Du Quoin State Fair on Tuesday, August 26, to showcase the university's commitment to Southern Illinois. Visitors may stop by the SIU tent to register to win football tickets and other prizes; talk with representatives from admissions, athletics and the SIU Alumni Association; meet students, faculty and staff; and pick up the 2014 Saluki dawg fan. Faculty and staff may also attend a 6 p.m. barbecue dinner with alumni and friends on the governor's lawn at the fairgrounds. Cost for the dinner, which requires advance registration, is $10 per person. Seating is limited, and reservations must be made by noon on Friday, August 22.
