As a national leader in aviation education, SIU Carbondale is one of very few universities to offer an Aviation Administration degree through the Master of Public Administration Program.

Graduate school programs are on the cutting edge and include an innovative professional science master’s degree in advanced energy and fuels management and an integrative graduate education and research training program in watershed science and policy that is supported by a $3 million grant from the National Science Foundation.
- SIU provides graduate degree opportunities of high quality and affordability. More than 55 percent of our graduate students are funded by teaching, research and administrative assistantships and fellowships.
- In recent years, SIU has had three graduate students win the prestigious Outstanding Thesis Award from the 150-member Midwest Association of Graduate Schools. Each year, our students are selected to join the 75-member U.S. team to attend the Lindau meeting of Nobel Laureates.
