Klassics for Kids, a musical outreach for very young music lovers founded by School of Music faculty members Ed Benyas and Kara Benyas, went south of the border for a presentation of "Music from Mexico" as part of Latino Heritage Month at SIUC. Sones de Mexico, the Grammy-nominated Latin musical ensemble, is shown here performing a traditional Aztec song and dance asking the powers of nature to bless the musical performance. Carbondale Community Arts sponsored the event. The next Klassics for Kids presentation is set for Nov. 4, and will feature a just-for-little-ones presentation of Italian opera.
