Food donations to benefit Saluki Food Pantry
A 5K run/walk next month will provide non-perishable items for the Saluki Food Pantry.
Neighborhood Co-op Grocery in Carbondale is hosting a 2018 Feed Your Neighbor 5K Run/Walk starting at 6 p.m. April 6 at Turley Park in Carbondale. Turley Park is at the corner of West Main Street and North Glenview Drive in Carbondale.
All proceeds will support Good Samaritan Ministries, but participants are also asked to bring non-perishable food items for the Saluki Food Pantry. People who bring item donations will be entered into a raffle for a special gift basket.
The race will be professionally timed by River to River Runners and is a certified course.
Interest race/walk participants may sign up in person at the Neighborhood Co-op Grocery, 1815 West Main St., Carbondale, online at www.neighborhood.coop or at the event. On-site registration starts at 4 p.m., April 6.
There will also be live music by The Anns, featuring RognboB with special guest Ruth Ann Levinson, along with snacks, and beverages. Age-group winners will receive Co-op made break, and the top male and female runners each receive a grand prize.
There will also be several raffles and prize drawings.
