CARBONDALE, Ill. -- A program offered by Southern Illinois University Carbondale at Little Rock Air Force Base that focuses on the management and business aspects of manufacturing is also open to the public.

The university’s Industrial Management and Applied Engineering program focuses on in-demand technical areas including lean manufacturing, six sigma, supply-chain, computer-aided manufacturing, manufacturing processes and safety. The program is one of the longest-accredited programs in the United States by the Association of Technology, Management and Applied Engineering (ATMEA).

A ribbon-cutting ceremony by the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce for the program is set for 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 3. The program will be at 1490 Vandenberg Blvd., Little Rock Air Force.
