by Christi Mathis

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Morris Library will be the site of a giant book sale on Sept. 9 and 10.

The Friends of Morris Library are sponsoring the sale, which will feature hundreds of books of all types along with records, VHS tapes, DVDs and more. It will take place in the lower level of the library and the public is welcome.

A “first choice” sale on Friday, Sept. 9, is from 4 to 8 p.m. and admission is $5. The sale continues from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 10 and admission is free on Saturday.

Organizers note that this will be the first book sale at the library since March 2015 so there is a large variety of hardback and paperback books featuring topics including history, cooking, science and religion. Children’s books and other media will be available for purchase as well.

Proceeds of the sale will be used by the Friends of Morris Library to purchase materials for the library. For more information, call 618/453-2522.
