Media Advisory – Law School Volunteerism Project
Incoming first-year students from the SIU School of Law will participate in a volunteerism project on the main campground at Giant City State Park on Friday, Aug. 21. Reporters, photographers and news crews are welcome to attend.
The students will be at the main campground site, about eight miles south of Carbondale on Giant City Road, from 10:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., helping to paint the playground shelter, more than 40 tables, and fire and yard hydrants. Students will also install archery targets and frames and fire ring supports; clean and straighten signs; and assist with trail maintenance. The class of 2018 includes 121 first-year law students.
