Media Advisory – Book in Every Home Campaign

Reporters and photographers are welcome to cover the kickoff of Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Book in Every Home campaign at 9 a.m., Tuesday, March 3.  The event is at the Carbondale Head Start center, located at 1900 N. Illinois Ave. (U.S. Highway 51 North), just north of the Carbondale Industrial Park. Ronda Dunn, the wife of SIU President Randy Dunn, is the chair of this year’s book drive. Youngsters enrolled in the five Head Start centers in Jackson and Williamson counties will be the beneficiaries. Linda J. Flowers, interim SIU Carbondale Head Start director, will explain the “Read to Me Now and I’ll Read for My Lifetime” campaign. 

Head Start pupils will be in attendance, and following opening remarks, Mrs. Dunn will read a story to the children.
