Meetings to look at general education

Three meetings over the next month are set to share perspectives and contribute to the conversation on the future of general education on campus.

The meetings, all from 4 to 5:30 p.m., in Morris Library rooms 752/754, are today, Thursday, Feb. 19; March 3 and March 16. Among the questions that might be discussed during the meeting are: ‘What role should general education play in the bachelor’s degree?’ and “What should the learning outcomes of general education be for the future.

Ras Michael Brown, associate professor, history, and Craig Anz, associate professor, architecture and associate dean for academic affairs, College of Applied Sciences and Arts, will facilitate the meetings, sponsored by the Core Curriculum Redesign and Implementation Committee.

Participants may find it helpful to review the “readings for open meetings on general education,” which can be found in the middle of the University Core Curriculum website. Light refreshments will be served.
