CARBONDALE, Ill.  -- Adrian Miller of Carbondale will be the Southern Illinois University Carbondale student trustee to the SIU Board of Trustees.

Miller, a junior majoring in political science, was chosen by students via online voting last week.  Miller will serve beginning July 1 through June 30, 2015, and represent the interests of SIU Carbondale and SIU School of Medicine students.  Miller received 59.66 percent of the vote to defeat Kane Hudson, a freshman majoring in engineering from Peoria.

Miller, the current Undergraduate Student Government president, will replace Jesse Cler, a senior majoring in agribusiness economics from Penfield, as student trustee.

Cameron Shulak, a junior majoring in aviation flight and management from Louisville, Ky., won the vote for Undergraduate Student Government president. He defeated Chris Wheetley, a junior majoring in political science and paralegal studies from Murphysboro.

Shulak’s one-year term also begins July 1.
