Honorary degree and service award nominations due Oct. 31
SIU welcomes nominations for recipients of honorary degrees and Distinguished Service Awards. Honorary degrees are awarded to individuals who have made outstanding scholarly contributions or are of considerable renown in any field of activity. Distinguished Service Awards honor persons who have contributed to southern Illinois; the state, nation or world; or the university. Letters of nomination must be accompanied by a two to three page resume, curriculum vita or biographic sketch that includes a description of the nominee’s unique contributions. All nominations are confidential. Please submit nominations by Oct. 31 to Gina Shiplett, Office of the Chancellor, 453-2341 (phone), 453-5362 (fax), ginas@siu.edu (email).
