Online training on quizzes, surveys, Dropbox and Turnitin
The Center for Teaching and Learning is hosting two online training sessions next week for instructors, teaching assistants and staff. A hands-on workshop on the Quizzes & Surveys tools in SIU Online takes place from 2 to 5 p.m. Oct. 28. Topics include building a question library, customizing settings, and managing assessments. Participants are encouraged to bring their own questions for use in one of their current courses, but a practice course will also be available. A workshop on how to use Turnitin, the originality-checking feature in SIU Online, is 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 29. Topics include setting up a dropbox assignment, activating automatic plagiarism detection, manually submitting assignments to Turnitin, reviewing originality reports, grading assignments with GradeMark, and leaving feedback for students. Both workshops will be held in Morris Library 139 and pre-registration is required.For information contact teach@siu.edu.
