Media Advisory – Former U.S. Rep. Jerry Costello

Former U.S. Rep. Jerry F. Costello, D-Belleville, will present a lecture at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Morris Library.

Costello, who retired Jan. 2 after more than 24 years in the U.S. House of Representatives, will present “If I Were President.” Prior to his lecture in the John C. Guyon Auditorium, Costello will participate in the presentation and donation of materials from his more than two decades in Congress to the library’s Special Collections Research Center.  The ceremony begins with a reception at 5 p.m., and formal presentation at 5:30 p.m. in the library’s Hall of Presidents and Chancellors.

To accommodate deadlines, reporters, photographers and video crews are welcome to attend a media availability with Costello at 3:10 p.m. Wednesday in the Hall of Presidents and Chancellors.
