Illinois Classical Conference this Week
On Oct. 11-13, SIU will host the annual meeting of the Illinois Classical Conference. This organization is comprised of teachers of Latin and Classics, from kindergarten through graduate school, from all over the state of Illinois. The program will feature talks and workshops on a variety of topics, from the pedagogical to the philosophical, and even ... hobbits! Guest speakers include pioneers of Active Latin Drs. Milena Minkova and Terence Tunberg of the University of Kentucky, and representatives of the NEH 2012 Summer Seminar, "Roman Comedy in Performance." Co-sponsored by the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, the College of Liberal Arts, and the Office of the Chancellor.
